This African hunter saddled his gun on his shoulder on a Friday night for a game hunt; reaching the forest in a bit to get a prey to hunt encountered these strange and weird looking beings all dancing round the fire in a religious worship session of their deity.

Amazed and fearful about this encounter he took a deep gaze at the group and discovered that they were weird spirit beings in a worship procession. He attempted retreating but the thought of being chased by the spirit filled him but finally decided to resign his fate by joining the procession and echoing their incantation chanting … “Friday! Friday! Friday! Friday…

With fear at heart and a hearty prayer to God not to be killed by this strange being.

After the ceremonial worship, the spirit beings expressed their appreciation to the hunter for his Humility, cooperation and kindred spirit during the worship session. They presented to him a traditional drum and instructed him to go back to the living and gave him very strict instructions to follow - he must shut himself indoor of his personal room and beat the drum … and was expected to chant some incantation during the drumming ….

The Hunter with gratitude to the spirit for sparing his life hurried out of the forest to his home.

Back home he entered his room and shut the door on himself and began to carry out the spirit beings’ instructions by beating the drum and chanting the incantations, to the amazement of this bewildered hunter, the drum produced amazing heaps of precious stones – gold, diamond, sapphire, jasper, silver etc.

The hunter who was actually very poor, gathered these precious stones and merchandised them and became stikingly rich, he became a multi-millionaire over night courtesy of his cooperation to the ritual proceeding of the spirits.

The hunter’s friend ‘Ade’ noticed the changes in the life style of his once poor hunter friend who has now acquired houses, and living an affluent life by all standard of a wealthy individual and was baffled pleaded with the to know the source of the hunters wealth.

The hunter unwilling to divulge his wealth’s secret to his friend but instead volunteered to help Ade out of his poverty by offering him millions of dollars to establish business and be wealthy as himself.

Ade was not contempted about this offer but rather he continued daily pestering the hunter to know the source of this sudden wealth. Due to this continuous pestering, the hunter decided to unveil to Ade his encounter with the spirit beings in the forest and the subsequent returns from the gift of a drum.

His friend being very jealous of his wealth decided to carry out his own expedient journey into the evil forest also on a Friday and at night hours for a game hunt …

On reaching the same spot, he sighted the weird spirit in their usual Friday ritual worship session, he joined them too. But unlike his friend the hunter who cooperated with the worship proceedings … Ade was opposite but instead of echoing the ‘Friday! Friday! Friday! Friday! …’ Chanting, he thought rationally that he should be wiser than this spirit, not wanting to look stupid repeating a day of the week over and over, decided to teach the spirits the days of the week, he began chanting … ‘Friday! Saturday! Sunday! Monday! Tuesday! Wednesday! Thursday! Friday! …’ Etc. and disrupted the flow of the chanting and the course of worship.

Soon worship was over and as the tradition of the spirits they thanked him for disrupting their worship session but decided not to harm him there in the evil forest, they also gave him the reward of a traditional drum and instructed him to go indoor of his room repeating some incantation and beat the drum.

With a sense of accomplishment and a hope for future wealth he came to his house and bolted his room door perfectly ensuring that it was double locked with expectation of precious stones; but to his greatest disappointment what proceeded from the drum were invisible human fists with horse tail whips and they descended on Ade inflicting several injuries on him and because the door was perfectly bolted, he could not escape but was tortured to death by the invisible fists. He never lived to tell his story.

Ha! Ha!! Ha!!!…… Laugh it off.
